per pound of beef and beans (1lbs beef /1 lbs beans so 2 lbs total)
2 Tbsp of chili powder
1 Tbsp chipotle chili powder
1 Tbsp smoked paprika
2 ts cayenne powder
2 ts cumin powder
1 ts garlic powder (even if you used fresh garlic which you should be)
1 ts black pepper

Mix it all together in a bowl and split in two,
brown the beef and saute the onions and add the first of on spices on the beef/onions before adding the beans and liquid. then half way through cooking add the other half of spices.

spices cook down and change flavor so by splitting when you add them results in more complex flavors

vegan chili, basically regular home-style chili but sub portobello mushrooms for meat
stick them in a food processor and mince them then saute with 1/3rd of the onions and pepper and deglaze the pan with Wild Turkey 101 bourbon .
Honestly its surprisingly similar to ground beef in texture

recipe:
portobello mushrooms
2 onions
2 bell peppers
2 jalapeno peppers
7 habanero peppers
few cloves of garlic
3 cans of beans
1 can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
4 cans of diced tomatoes w/green chilies
some tomato sauce and paste to your liking
beer or broth of your choice
and a fuckton of chili spices, like chipotle chili powder, cumin, smoked papreka, cayenne, onion/garlic powder. however much you think you need use 3x that

saute 1/3rd of the onions and peppers with the ground beef and deglaze the pan with a strong bourbon like wild turkey 101
use diced tomatoes w/green chilies instead of whole
chipotle pepper in adobo sauce and chipotle chili powder adds a nice smokey flavor and some heat

so because of how it was presented you automatically assume they aren't putting enough chili powder in?
There is clearly enough chilies on my trays for a small batch of chili.
toasting, soaking, blending then adding to the chili is negligent in difference from just toasting and grinding into a powder and dumping it into the pot, its going to soak regardless
And you fags that don't use fresh pepper can fuck right off "but muh authenticity" it wasn't made with dried peppers and dried beef by choice it was necessity and whenever the opportunity arose to use fresh ingredients they would which is why so many variations on chili exist. peppers, tomatoes, corn and beans were all staple dried foods of that time and region
