$400 a month on marijuana in a place like California - California, a place with outrageous taxes? You can do the multiplication if you want.
But, when tobacco is cheaper? Imagine spending $100 a week on anything like drugs, takeout, alcohol, porn, you name it.

If you're gonna a smartass you gotta be smart bro.

So I'm not dogging on IPA's. I've had damn amazing IPA's, more savory than unsavory.
But when people buy into one style like a fad of being cultured, like nu-males, hipsters, etc. and breweries hit-and-dip on this momentary lapse of unnecessary selfishness, I don't trust that brewery's commitment to the world of beer. I don't trust breweries that advertise 'good' beer with complex artwork. Yeah taste is subjective, but there's something happening there, and you can't deny it.
But it's not all for naught. I enjoy malt liquor and white trash lagers myself when I have to, and can. And I'll own up to having tried beers that were too complex for my palette. It's all what I enjoy about drinking. The taste. The color. The bottle and artwork, admittedly. The head, the sediment, the age, the description, where it was brewed, and by whom. What the name of it is, and how it smells. How strong it it is. I don't actually mind how bitter a beer is. Though I do prefer a good balance. Sours and fruitiness makes a good bitterness imo, but I've had fruity ales with little IBU that tasted just fine. It's a fucking hobby guys.
