And I guess I must take it the hospitality for granted.
Hell, 2-3 weeks ago my car ran out of gas when I was 90 miles south down in Alabama, and I got out of the car to wave down a vehicle and the very first car stopped and helped me and took me to the gas station and let me use his gas can he had in his truck.
Even paid for my gas to get back home.

I should have only bought 1-2 40's of malt liquor and put the rest in gas but I bought 3 and thought I could coast mostly home but ran out short.
People are cool here, just stay out of some ghettos and trailer parks unless you are from round der.
Or you could be seen as a tourist and tangle up with some druggies or something.

Only the gangbangers and some junkies are a problem, but they all are in specific areas.
You can ask any local and they'll tell you where to avoid, but you can spot em quick so nothing to worry about.
But most places are great.
