Your classic sides are going to be mac-n-cheese, potato salad, roasted new potatoes drowning in butter, green beans, corn-on-the-cob, greens (collard or turnip) cooked with bacon, spicy baked beans,and cornbread. The mac-n-cheese is probably the only one that takes some work to master a really good, creamy mac, and even that isn't that difficult.
For desserts you want cobblers, usually peach, blackberry, or apple. Cobblers are basically just a square pie with no bottom crust. Your main beverages are always cold beer, lemonade, and sweet tea.

Has anyone got any peach cobbler recipes I can follow? (New to the cooking scene btw)
