Club Sandwich Thursday.

In Melvindale, Michigan, just nudging the city of Detroit on the map, we call one of these a Three-Melvin. Any Thursday go into a diner or Coney and say, "Three-Melvin me," and you get a delicious triple-decker Club Sandwich and the fries are on the house.

In Indian River, Michigan, where I like to visit, not just because of The Cross in the Woods, the world largest crucifix created by Marshall Fredricks, but because of their delicious Club Sandwiches. The citizens of Indian River call them "Ho-Trins" because the 3 pieces of bread remind them of the Holy Trinity.

Wednesday is Ho-Trin day, so just amble into an Indian River tavern and cafe and say, "Ho-Trin me" and wait and have one of the tasty Clubs in the top of the mitten.

What's your favorite sandwich to order for lunch at a restaurant?

Mine is the Club Sandwich.

It's Club Sandwich Sunday here in Badaxe, Michigan in the thumb area and it's time to settle this once and for all: Turkey or chicken in the Club?

When I was a kid I would ask my Mom to make me a Club Sandwich. And she would say "this is isn't Club Sandwich Thursday, you have to wait for Club Sandwich Thursday. Thursday would roll around and I would ask my Mom to make me a Club Sandwich because it's Club Sandwich Thursday and she would say, no, no, no, little Anon, Club Sandwich Thursday?, no such thing, you must mean Club Sandwich Monday. Monday rolls around and I ask my Mom to make me a Club Sandwich because it's Club Sandwich Monday. Mom does the same thing and says you must mean Club Sandwich Sunday.

I hate my Mom but man, oh fucking man, I love Club Sandwiches! Did you kill your Mom and do you like Club Sandwiches, too?

I collect the frilly toothpicks.
I have hundreds of them.

Whenever I order a Club Sandwich I pretend I'm a member of a club that is very selective about who gets in. It's makes the sandwich taste better and I feel pretty good about being such a special person eating a delicious triple-decker sandwich.

In Ubly, Michigan in the thumb area, today is Club Sandwich Thursday. Grew up eating things every Thursday. Still love 'em and I am eating one right now.

On vacation this week from School and I'm craving the perfect sandwich for lunch today.
