Everybody saying it's a sugar based addiction are half right.
It's a chemical thing, no doubt. It can't be sugar simply because most fizzy drinks (at least here in the UK) are sugar free. It's the caffeine I tell you. I have a mate who essentially doesn't drink water - he really that bad - and he has the same withdrawal symptoms as I had when I gave up tea and coffee.
