I was a 70s kid. There was TONS of fat and sugar in many prepackaged foods--It wasn't all that rare to get a bag of chips that had a puddle of oil in the bottom. It wasn't the norm either.
While it's true that we were much more active as a society then too, the change in "Sugars and Fats" has made all the difference in the world.
