Because of the fiber, mildness, and variety of nutrition held between the array of different species the Romans prescribed it as medication. Cooking methods were different based on the sickness, including just drinking the broth if too sick to take solids, or charred cabbage for organ health.

Look up the Romans and their views on cabbage. They kept multiple different kinds and used it to treat various things by cooking at different stages (or eating raw, or drinking the broth).

It depends on the ailment you suffer from. For general heal I would ingest half in salads and the other mostly cooked in soups. Then buy more cabbage because one is not enough. Cato has spoken.

Romans knew how powerful the cabbage was. 1 cup raw isn't always a necessity, unless you have certain ailments. Perhaps a need for roughage or insoluble fiber, or a need to feel satiated. The amount of nutrients in cabbage in cabbage is absurd and varies based on variety to the point where their doctors categorized them and gave different treatments for different sicknesses. Suck as it being common sense that a person not able to handle solid food drink vegetable broth, yay cabbage. Cato the Elder who was a Senator and a historian, yes the Romans had historians, insisted men who held property have their own garden to provide supplemental food and herbs for themselves. Primarily cabbage and grapes for wine and vinegar.

how do you feel about places that aren't literally Soup Nazi tier strict as a meme, but where you are speaking over a steamtable-counter, cafeteria-style, to a man taking your order from the middle of an active kitchen. Where by-necessity you have to communicate yourself clearly over the sound of three men at a griddle and more. Where to speak clearly and deliberately is in service of them serving you, expeditiously and efficiently? How do you feel about those places? God love them, quite possibly?

Corned chicken with cabbage, onion, and carrots. I know mustard isn't traditional, but I require it when consuming large amounts of cabbage or potatoes.

I also picked up a handle of whiskey. I figure I'll be marathoning anime or waiting for events to start in FO76 while boozing.

Every healthy body needs crisp greens, this has been known since ancient times. The most brilliant people grew their own produce and herbs and even pushed as medicine.

Never underestimate the power of cabbage. Nor growing all your own herbs for medicines, enough vegetable foods for you and your family even through the winter, and grapes for your wine and vinegar.

Cato The Elder was a wise man with a pimp name.

"-He should take care that no one on the place is in want, or lacks food or drink; in this respect he can afford to be generous, for he will thus more easily prevent picking and stealing."

Get a good vitaprep. Save up if the good models cost more, I haven't checked recently.

Those fuckers are magical.

But every cook needs a good knife. And I stand behind the Suien recommendation as long as you don't try to go for bone or squash.

Your standards are suspiciously high. I suspect there has been more looking than touching. Or a lot of touching but not the kind you desire.

Very thinly sliced, or outright shaved with a knife, is more difficult to do and time consuming; it doesn't have much of a life-span either.

However it still has quite the crunch when fresh, and aging it for just a few hours can make it as soft as you want depending on timing. I'm not a fan of large pieces of cabbages unless they're a smaller part of a larger item.
