Foodhack thread /ck/

Lets get an ingredient swaps, tips and tricks for cooking a better meal.

I am a beginner cook, very novice.
So what I will start with using the right sauce for the right pasta shape.
Ever have somebody serve you pasta with sauce that slides right off of it or just sits on top leaving sauceless pasta on the bottom? Never again.

Thin wispy pasta a thinner sauce, bulky or large pasta a nice thick sauce. I am sure that there are some exceptions to this but I don't know of any.
