NYC has some good restaurants (like literally any big city) but yeah their street food is completely overhyped meme, it's simply not that good. I don't even eat boiled hot dogs at home with shitty ballpark franks, the appeal of a hot dog is the snap of biting into the skin, boiling it just makes it like eating luke warm soft mushy bologna
