Lol. Imagine falling for the boutique cast iron scam. Did somebody sell you a bridge as well?
Meanwhile, here's a new Lodge with the factory seasoning and "rough" surface.

it's bad because it's readily available and inexpensive. this has two consequences: one, it's inevitably the CI pan that everybody learns on and makes their initial mistakes on, and two you can't use it to flex on the poors. other than that, they're outstanding pans for people who actually cook with them. video related, it's a lodge with the factory finish.

The pebbly ones cook better than the vintage pans. They just don't look as nice.

>everything sticks even when copious amounts of oil/butter/etc are applied
stop doing that. you don't need very much oil at all, you only need enough to put a bit of a shine on the pan.

Just thought I'd remind everyone that smooth cast iron is more prone to sticking than rough surfaced cast iron. There's one autistic anon that regularly runs through these cast iron threads claiming that smooth surfaced pans are superior, but that's because he believes that smooth surfaced pans are easier to scrape burnt food off of. He gets very angry if you remind him that most sane, non-autistic people prefer not to burn their food.
