for fuck sake, people aren't PRETENDING, its called being acclimated to the taste. You learn to deal with it and enjoy the drink as a whole, not zero in on the astringency of the liquor (unless its a terribly made drink). Most people develop a taste for bitter food and drink as they age. So yes, almost everybody hates alcohol at first. I hated spinach when I was 12, now I love it. I still think its bitter, but I like it. Crazy, isn't it?
