I tried a locally made whiskey out of a combination of curiosity and the fact that I'm easily upsold. It tastes almost exactly like Wild Turkey, but with a touch of mint. So not terribly complex, but sweet enough for a bourbon, and on the interesting side. It was extremely smooth, to the point where the only bit that gives off the 45% ABV is in the aroma. If it wasn't for the smoothness, I'd say I overpaid by $10. Bottle was $38, Wild Turkey 101 is about $28 around here. Not something I'll buy again, but at least it was interesting to try a minty whiskey.
