Why is bacon packaged like this almost always. Can someone not figure out a better design? Something resealable at least

The way bacon is packaged is terrible.

I really wish they sold bacon in half-pounds as the standard. Or at least had each pound separated in to two halves. And don't tell me they would never do that because they do that shit with deli meat.

I always open a pound of bacon but I never need to cook the whole pound. So I end up with a floppy half-pack of bacon in my fridge that half the time I don't use before it goes bad.

What do you think of Canadian bacon? I notice that Americans seem to talk about it a lot.

I assume it's because Canadian meats are generally higher quality than American.
