Just tried graduating past instant coffee by buying a french press off amazon. Made my first coffee with it from a guide, and it came out really bitter and a bit acidic. I used 25g for 300ml, used water that has been boiled then cooled for a little bit, stirred it quite a bit, then left it to steep for 5 minutes. Any metric except heat was on the low end on extraction strength. Any advice? I'm planning on using a bit cooler water next time.
