If you're going to use those, dip them in the soup before you fry them in butter like you would a normal quesadilla, or a sandwich, or whatever.
If you're making tacos, cut up some cilantro, add your favorite blend of shredded cheese, your favorite hotsauce, and some lime juice. Godly tacos. You will hate taco bell for the rest of your life after you try these tacos.

Having spent a few years in Minnesota, the joke about "that spicy black pepper stuff" was always around. A lot of the people there are of Scandinavian decent and that sort of plays into their eating habits as well. There weren't a lot of spices available to them in that area through out history and so many things are pickled or cream-based meals. Lots of potatoes and cheese too. Meat, always. There weren't a lot of good asian markets, or Mexican shops. They exist, don't get me wrong, but they aren't abundant and kind of far between.

Pickled shit was also in their culture. Herring, lutefisk, that kinda shit.

The reverse can be said about other countries. Korea, for example, has a huge history of nothing BUT spice and so it's ingrained deep into their eating habits. There's not a lot of milk in Asia, which is why it's not commonly used in their dishes. It all just boils down to geography and available resources.
