/ck/ - Food & Cooking

Why doesn't /ck/ have a sticky? Been a NEET for 4 years and am finally forced to go out into the world by myself after my mother died and really don't know where to start when it comes to learning to cook properly. My mom taught me how too cook pasta (for mac n cheese), basic ground beef, and how to make a hamburger on the stove and that's it. I'm sure cooking isn't THAT hard but most of the time when I google a recipe they're pretty sparse with details on how to actually do things and will just say "cook this and blend this together and mix it together". I have a ton of chicken in my freezer and I watched a few youtube videos on how to cook it but when I actually did it, it felt like it was taking too long and I was worried about over cooking it (which I have done before with an older attempt at cooking porkchops) it was not cooked in the middle and became cold very quickly. I don't know how to use spices or anything to flavor meats or pasta well or anything.

tl;dr, is there an actual guide on how to cook and/or a list of recipes with detailed instructions for retards?
