I have to announce, Anons, that I have become unable to drink American (red) wines, whether they be from Cali or Oregon or wherever else. Even supposedly 'high-end' ones. I have come to find them much too "jammy", almost sweet-like. Which is a shame, because I used to have a real taste for Oregon pinot noirs.

I can only do my Euro wines now: Spanish wine is my absolute favorite for its high alcohol volume as well as its bitterness/tartness and some degree of oakiness, which I love.

Argentine Malbec is actually pretty good too, although I've only fooled around with cheaper stuff rather than buying higher-quality Argentine wines. However, I want to give them a chance, given that their wine is very similar to Spanish wine in terms of flavour profile.

Sorry, American wines. You tided me well enough for a long time, but that period is over.

Give me a rustic recipe calling for ground beef that would go well with a night of drinking red wine, /ck/.

Finally destroying after a month of sobriety.

Today, a Cloudline pinot noir from Oregon.
Tomorrow, I have two bottles of Spanish garnacha and one bottle of monastrell to choose from.

Thank dog for red wine.

Spanish wine is amazing, and you can get good wines starting at $8.

Grenache/garnacha is the best, imo. My local liquor shop carries garnacha, and it's quickly become my favorite. I also like Monastrel, very astringent and bitter herb-like.

Are olives unhealthy?

I like to snack on them while getting drunk on wine. I like to get them from the olive bar in my nearby sprouts, which offers them in a combo of green and kalamata ones.

I know they're likely high on the sodium aspect, but is there anything else that would make them unhealthy? I feel that maybe the oil they're coated with is just bad, but idk.

Daily reminder that red wine is the healthiest drink you can consume apart from water. It's literally liquid antioxidants that help you live longer AND get you drunk: what more could you ask for?

Fucking stop, I feel sick just looking at the bottles.

You don't even need to spend that much to buy a decent wine.

Gonna be destroying some wine tomorrow. Any ideas on some relatively simple, rustic dishes or recipes to make to enjoy?

I don't care abou food/wine pairings: I personally have mixed and matched foods with all kinds of red wines and always enjoyed them regardless. Btw I just went grocery shopping today, so I'm pretty stocked on food.

Thanks in advance, Anons.

Wine, easily. It's extremely chill to just sit in front of my PC on a Friday night, a glass of red wine in my hand, as I lurk and chill and listen to music and become more intoxicated. It makes you feel hot and passionate: the music flows through you so well, you begin to feel everything so intensely. You watch a movie that's even the slightest bit emotional, you'll end up crying; you watch fantasy or sci-fi, you will be so engrossed and in awe.

Beer causes you to bloat and burp, so it's physically uncomfortable, although not terrible; in addition, the intoxication it gives is only okay. However, I will admit that drinking it makes me sleep really well.

Liquor - gin, whiskey, vodka, tequila, etc. - are not at all relaxing. They give you a crazy, incoherent kind of drunk, and the hangovers are terrible. It's honestly not even all that relaxing - it makes you aggressive.

Wine easily wins for giving the best and most relaxing drunk state.

I've seen it, but I don't think it's really stuck much. I'm the only person I know to drink wine on the regular, everyone sticks to their beer and liquor, and still act surprised when I mention wine is what I regularly drink and get fucked up on.
