hello, i would like to start cooking but i have no cooking equipment,

i want to get a frying pan and can't decide between stainless steel, cast iron, or nonstick. i don't think i will be cooking too much or cooking anything too complicated but would like the option for it. leaning towards stainless steel as it is versatile and because cast iron maintenance seems like a pain in the ass. if stainless steel, is it recommended to go all in and spend over a hundred for something like all clad?

Would ethical vegetarians and vegans eat meat again if lab grown meat becomes sustainable for mass sale? You'd think they would since it completely removes the animal suffering from the equation.
