Hull in England, we're in the golden zone for fried Fish and Chips.

One local specialites is the "Pattie", which is basically a fishcake but without the fish, so basically battered soft potato and various herbs, invented due to fish shortages after the Cod War with Iceland. Also sold as a "Pattie Buttie" in a bap/breadcake/breadknob/whatever you want to call it.

Chip Spice is another famous one. It's only really paprika and salt with a few other bits, but go to any takeaway of any kind in Hull and they will slather it all over your meal, it's just gorgeous, no need for mayo or tomato sauce. The bizarre thing is you simply do not get it anywhere else, it's quite jarring after a night out somewhere else to have to eat your chips with either nothing or boring salt.
