imho no one realizes theyve turned into an alcoholic until its already done. its up to the person to make changes accordingly. health and mental issues will eventually develop and make it obvious. I had a friend who was a pro skater that slowly succumbed to alcoholism, its rough man and really sad to witness. I see him sometimes on the boardwalk, drunk af stinking like piss and cheap booze, spare changing living like a total fucking bum.
its really sad to see what he has become.
he's burned all of his bridges and has no one to help him anymore.
