They used to sell just the rib meat patties in a 6-pack, and it fit perfectly in those long rolls that Walmart sold in 6-packs in their bakery section. I used to make fake McRibs out of those all the time. The sauce was a little different but you could just scrape it off with a fork after cooking and slather on some bbq sauce and it tasted pretty close to the real thing. I haven't seen those 6-pack patties being sold since covid started. Also the ones that come in the regular meals seem to be smaller now so they don't fit as well in the rolls. Chances are if you find the 6-pack, you'll have a similar size issue with those ones too.
