I just hope whoever picks up the Sonic comics next manages to keep up Eggman as awesome as he's been for Archie. Archie Eggman's got a great "silly one moment, terrifying the next" thing going on. He's a genuine threat, but he's also genuinely fun to watch. It'd be a shame if he was reduced to being just a comical oaf again.
