I've only used the pre-made stuff from this brand. I'm not big into Indian food. It was pretty good, I bought about 7 different flavors to try different varieties.

Seriously? NO one here has a curry recipe? I posted this last night and it's done dead died already.

I can open a jar of Pataks with the best of em - and usually that shit is just fine. But I wanna be able to make a proper curry without the shortcut. Someone gimme a foolproof and simple recipe.

Curry Recipes?

I can open a can of Patak's as well as any other motherfucker. And usually I'm 100% satisfied with it. Shit's cash, ya know? But the other day I was at my in-laws' for supper and my fucking brother-in-law made a spot-on curry without using prefab paste. Well fuck him! I married the hotter sister and I'll be fucked if I let that punk-ass motherfucker make a better curry than me.

tl:dr Please hit me with your best curry recipe. Keep it simple. Fuck all the add-ons and frippery-frappery. I just want to get restaurant-quality sauce to go with the fucking browned meat.

I think it looks difficult because as you read the list of ingredients you end up having to read through like 20-30 different items, some of which you've never even heard of before. I find that Indian food is kinda unfriendly to foreigners because you really have to end up buying a lot of spices and ingredients that you won't use in any other cuisine so you either need to cook Indian often or just kinda forget about being authentic and start improvising.

Or you could do what I do when I just want to make something quick. Pic related, just buy some pataks curry pastes. I bet there's someone on /ck/ that will have a hissy fit when mentioning pataks but I've been to Indian peoples houses and they had it too so whateves.
