If you dont like mushrooms you should try species aside from white button, crimini, and portobello(the species found in most supermarkets). They contain a substance called agaritine which is carcinogenic and often 10% or more remains even after cooking. Oyster, shiitake, maitake, wood-ear, etc. are much better tasting and better for your health

This is a pretty ignorant viewpoint considering our best medicines are derived from mushrooms and several of the have great flavor while serving as medicines we can consume regularly.
Agaricus Bisporus which is portobellos, white button, and crimini mushrooms should not be consumed because it is toxic, however lions mane, maitake, oyster, shiitake, etc are ingrained in cultural use by the chinese and many other successful cultures in terms of traditional medicine.
Also fungi with fruiting bodies are often phototropic like humans.
Also photosynthesis doesn't really mean much in terms of something being nutritious, a large portion of vegetables humans consume contain anti-nutrients which block absorption and simple carbohydrates and sugars drain humans of vitamins and minerals --> most health problems are owes to a deficiency in vitamins or minerals
Id recommend doing some research because you can really potentially hurt yourself by holding yourself back by what nature has to give you. You can take care of your own body while taking care of nature, fungi are the very source of life in nature as they are the foundation for plant life and all living communities on earth with exception to maybe antarctica

This is my first time
May happen to have some cubensis growing as well (allegedly)

I would stay away from crimini and Portobello's tho
I was making a lot of them for me and my gf and it was delicious but we would be angry later... Then I found out they have some amount of toxic alkaloids that often remain after cooking
I switched to only shiitake and I'm much happier and healthier.
