the only real test for Crohn's is a colonoscopy wherein they biopsy some of your tissue. The blood marker tests have really high false positive rates and are only there to give a GP the *hint* of an idea that you might have Crohn's. Pray you don't have it, the long term implications for people with Crohn's are fucking awful.

and then the treatments, which are universally different types of immunosuppressants will make you deathly scared of getting a fucking strep infection, because it can literally kill you.
I mean, the treatments are getting better over time but they haven't really changed too much since monoclonal antibodies became the hot thing to give to patients. Immunology is a fucked up field and needs some serious talent thrown at it but everything got diverted over the past couple years for obvious reasons
