If becoming ceo is just a matter of skill, hard work, and ambition, why do so few ceos come from poor backgrounds?
Surely there are people who grew up poor who are just as capable and ambitious. Yet they almost never seem to make it to ceo. In fact, it's so rare that when it does happen, forbes or some other site writes a "rags to riches" story about it.

could it be that succeeding in business is more about connections than skill?
And maybe that the whole system is rigged by the rich and powerful to keep themselves rich and powerful?
