In the context of tiki bars "grog" is something of an umbrella term meant to imply that the drink is somehow a manly high seas adventure in a glass. Usually, but not always, it's derived from or related to the Navy Grog that the original Don The Beachcomber had on the menu:

1 oz white PR rum
1 oz dark Jamaican rum
1 oz Demerara rum
3/4 oz honey
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz white grapefruit juice
1 oz seltzer

or from Trader Vic's take on the drink, of which there are several recipes, but is usually differentiated mainly by the use of allspice or mixed-spice syrup rather than honey, but there were plenty of "grog" drinks back in the heyday of the tiki bar that had nothing to do with either recipe.
