I went out and bought the $5 chalupa box solely because of this post. It turns out I wasted my money, as the 5 layer burrito once again confirmed itself to be the best Taco Bell menu item. Yes, they forgot the onions and red sauce, but with a little guacamole and fire sauce it still blows everything else in any $5 box I've tried out of the water. It seems like a good deal - and it admittedly is a bit more food than just ordering 2 5 layers - but at the end of the day it's just not worth it. The tacos suck, the chalupa sucks (and is messy as fuck), and a sugar water isn't worth it unless there's a deal where you get it with no extra charge. The worst part is the lack of satiation; fast food combo meals are a fucking scam, desu.
