We always have either duck or goose here in Denmark depending on how much of my family is there for it.
Probably duck this year.
With delicious caramelised potatoes.

I'm thinking maybe a traditional Danish Christmas dinner.
Roasted duck or goose, pickled red cabbage, brown gravy, boiled potatoes, caramelised potatoes. Ris a la mande for dessert (I will arrange for her to find the almond and win the prize)

Butter and sugar in a pan and the pre-boiled small potates covered in it.
It's a classic part of Christmas dinner here in Denmark

The potatoes are actually caramelised in sugar. It's delicious.
When we have a dish with them, such as roasted goose or the grönlangkål in the OP, we usually have regular boiled potatoes as an option too, though, but I don't know if that's standard or if my parents just always run out of small potatoes suitable for caramelising.

Any danes on the board? I just heard you guys eat these carmel-coated potatoes on christmas and I have to ask, are your potatoes as tiny as they look in this picture? In america, the smallest potatoes we get are about the size of a walnut in the shell

We usually have goose for Christmas but duck certainly works too.
You'll want to make a nice rich gravy from the drippings and of course make some caramelised potatoes. It's sometimes difficult to find nice small potatoes this time of year so don't be too proud to get the canned ones. They're not that bad.
Something sour on the side works nicely with the richness of the bird. Pickles, pickled red cabbage, picked green tomatoes... hell, picked okra if that's your thing.
My mother likes a little handfull of crips, chips if you're American, on the side too, for the texture, but I don't feel it's needed.
