I try to stay comfy, and usually do a decent job, but I’ll admit that I do get a little irked when they leave out $2 worth of my order (even after I’d just spent over $200 on whiskey). To make matters worse, when I got to the window, they told me to pull up to the parking lot, as they made my order 3 hours earlier, but will be, “happy to make it again”. I was so flummoxed that I completely forgot to request any hot sauce, let alone check my bag before driving off. By some fluke, they managed to throw in half a dozen del scorchos, which is what I was going to ask for, but was still underwhelming based on the partial order I received. I did a taste test with Fire, and the del scorcho was definitely better. For their “medium” sauce, it was actually hotter than Fire, and just generally more flavorful. All in all, I’d say Del Taco is a lot more like an actual Mexican restaurant, albeit fast food, while Taco Bell doesn’t even count as Tex Mex, but is just it’s own (formerly) special thing.
