Wondering if I have a drinking problem if I can finish a handle in just over a week

I guess I've lived under a rock but where did all this Japanese whiskey obsession come from? I've had maybe 6 different ones and they just taste like a decent to good scotch and that's it... nothing unique or stand out, its just scotch whisky from Japan.

Not talking about this thread but talked to some liquor store owners and whisky drinking regulars at a place I go and they all swear up and down Yamazaki is their number one favourite. Had some and it's just decent, added a few water drops but no massive improvements. Is it just a collector thing or just a temporary fad
