yes it fucking does. my dad and mom are surgeons they always brought home these surgical sponges. the plastic teeth are good for cleaning out your fingernails and around your cuticles. I always grew up washing my hands thoroughly and I like how the bristles feel. I haven't used one of those brushes in years now but I still wash my hands very well. you can absolutely get garlic smell off your hands using nothing but soap and hot water
