I worked in a grocery store for many years so I just get it done in the quickest and most efficient way possible. Shopping list, look over it and make a mental map of where I need to go first and I'm usually done in under half hour. I got better shit to do than dilly dally at a grocery store.

As someone that worked and managed a lot of people including in food business and retail over the years, there are definitely a lot of bottom of the barrel workers that won't magically start working harder if you give them more money. They might for a little bit, but not giving a fuck is seldom a money thing, it's a personality and work ethic thing.

Not that I'm against raising the insanely low minimum wage and healthcare reform in the US, it's just you can't throw money at some problems. Some people are just fucking trash.
