Most prepackaged foods are priced, especially meats, are priced for families. Find a butcher, make him or her your friend and ask for half pounds or less depending on how much you like to eat.

I'm not saying stores are bad (other people will) but the portions are just high if you're single and don't like leftovers. The only other option is to give away your leftovers to co-workers or friends or family if you're feeling altruistic, but you're still paying for it.
