This sentiment is correct but you're so insanely out of touch with what artists are it's kind of funny. The average artist 100 years ago was a commission artist. The average artist 500 years ago was a commission artist. The average artist now is a commission artist.
The "modern artist" that you have in your brain is a specific subset of retards that exist only as a result of wealthy parents and uppity art schools that do not teach technique but instead mindset. I understand and believe we should call these people faggots, but modern artists as they have literally always been, are commission artists working for clients in a variety of fields.
