OP, I like your bento, it's pretty practical. But I have a problem with cute bentos, or cute food in general.

When a kid likes to torture his action figures and smash them with a hammer, parents will probably scold that kid or get him some damn counseling because they don't want him to grow up to be a psycho.

Yet people seem to have no problem giving a kid cute food like this, and encouraging them to rip it apart with their bare teeth.
"Oh, honey, I put my heart into lovingly making these cute little pandas. It's a mommy panda and a daddy panda and they love each other very much. <3 Now MURDER AND DEVOUR THEM!"
I could never eat that kind of shit without feeling uneasy.

Kawaii is the answer. Effort into presentation/variety actually works more than you'd think. I'm mostly talking lunch wise though, especially if you've got the type of kid/toddler that starves themselves at school.

So I recently acquired a bento box since I want to start cooking my own lunches. My job won't pay me shit so I can't afford to eat out anymore so... bento time.

Problem is, I have no idea what to do or where to start. I know I can put anything in it and the Japanese do a mostly rice then some veggies then a little meat and a small snack thing.

But I'd like to hear what you all put in a bento or what you make and put in containers to take places. (Doesn't have to be a bento, just any packed meal I suppose.)
