I make beer bread almost constantly, it's like an instinct. It's filling, super cheap, one loaf will tie you over for two days at least. There's 2 ways of making it, I'll cover both.
Preheat oven to 190°C (don't work in burgers, blow it out your asses yankees).
Mix 750ml of SR flour, 65ml of caster sugar, and 330ml of any beer/cider/lager etc.
Mix until it's a stiff batter, put into greased loaf tin.
Put in oven, leave for 45 minutes.
Come back, enjoy bread.
Second method is if you don't use or have Self Raising, basically add a teaspoon of baking powder and a teaspoon of salt. It tastes a little different, but that's it.
Best part is you can use whatever beer you like, I used Old Mout Cider yesterday, which is not poor food at all, but it makes the bread slightly fruity and really nice and pale. If you use guiness, you get a wholemeal look to the bread and it tastes like normal good bread.
