Yes. It is 100% soy, in fact. It's also a great source of protein. As is spinach, broccoli, Cauliflower and watercress and a few others. Tofu is versatile and comes in any shape or texture you prefer in any dish you can think of. It's a great additive to a meat dish or serves as a satisfying substitute in vegetarian dishes. Your imagination is the limit with this stuff.

My favorite ways to have it is either fried or in a spicy korean seafood tofu stew called, "soon dubu jjigae". I learned about it from youtube and found a restaurant that serves it and fell in love. Soft tofu is amazing if prepared properly. Like a delicate spicy marshmallow.

I eat a moderate amount of tofu, if that counts as a "meatless substitute".

There's often more than a few dead sea critters in the bowl with it for extra fun though, and maybe an unborn chicken.
