i use chef john's cincinnatti chili as a base because i love super thick "sandy" chili you can eat with a god damn fork if you wanted
>2 slices of bacon blendered into a paste, then fried until all the fat is rendered
after that frying is done you literally just throw all this shit in and cook it until it's as thick as you want it
>2 pounds ground beef
>6 ounce can tomato paste
>4 cloves garlic, minced
>1 yellow onion, diced
>1 green bell pepper, diced
>2 tablespoons chili powder
>2 teaspoons chipotle powder
>2 teaspoons ground cumin
>Eighth of a teaspoon ground cinnamon
>Fourth of a teaspoon cayenne pepper
>1 teaspoon ground black pepper
>1 teaspoon knorr caldo de pollo
>1 bay leaf
>1 can of kidney beans
>1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
>Half tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
>Half tablespoon Soy sauce
>6 ounces of beer (half a bottle)
>Half cup of water
i throw the meat in + all the liquids and mash it into a goopy paste just how i like it before adding all the other ingredients
if im feeling fancy i will put in some flour to make a bacon roux/gravy/whatever with the beer to really thicken up the final chili
but remember, the best chili is the chili you like the most, dont let anyone tell you otherwise
even if you like vegan tofu whole grain non gmo gluten free chili or whatever
after all, you are the big willy of your own chili

If you can get them for a good price they're nice to have on hand for emergencies. Just stick them in a closet corner or something.
I keep a box or two for hurricane prep. Went through a box after Michael without issue. The electrolyte drink mixes are underrated. After working all day doing cleanup and sweating my ass off they worked wonders. They're actual electrolyte replenishers unlike the sugar-water Gator/Powerades.

there's a lot of overlap. hot literally means the temperature but can be colloquially used to describe the spiciness of the seasoning. in most cases they're synonymous
