Aunt Jemima rebranding. They tried to say it was about stopping racism because Aunt Jemima was a racist caricature, but I think it's just that they didn't want to only be associated with pancakes like they were. It's like King Arthur Flour rebranding to King Arthur Baking, because they want you to know they sell more than just flour. People also said they were changing the logo because it was racist, but it's a little more complicated than that. More complex logos actually get ignored more easily and don't register in your brain as quickly since they take longer to look at before you see every detail. Since people see so many logos every day, having a simpler logo that is immediately identifiable is probably just better for business. Of course a company will try to make it about social justice and say they're fighting racism because they don't want to go "so we've done a bit of research and because you're bombarded with thousands of ads every day and start to tune it out we needed you to be able to identify our brand as quickly as possible". But you'd probably feel bad if a company admitted that, so they say it's about fighting racism, and then because they say that you get a bunch of people attacking the company for changing the logo, which then makes other people defend the company because they think they're fighting racism too.
