I quit drinking back in April when my gf left me, I got fired from my job, and I had a severe anxiety attack all in one week. Not touched a drop since.

I've lost about 16.5kg/36lb since then without going to the gym or adjusting much at all. I look a LOT better but a few of my alcoholic friends have dropped out of my life because I don't drink now. It's kind of lonely lads.
