You misunderstand my point. There is no such thing as a cure for alcoholism or addiction. Judging by your post, you don't understand the nature of these afflictions. They may ABATE the symptoms of addiction for some time, maybe even for a lifetime for some, but nothing will ever remove the symptoms of addiction from someone. Psychedelics HELP the problem, but they don't SOLVE it. Simply taking psychedelic drugs won't stop someone's alcoholism or drug addiction dead in its tracks, its naive to think that any substance has such a power. A glib summary such as "try ayahuasca or ibogaine" is about as helpful as "try smoking weed, or try quitting", it's advice from someone who doesn't have the problem, and isn't trying to understand it. You might as well have suggested skydiving. Without a proper support network, willpower, and lifestyle changes, and the desire to change, all someone will get is a gnarly trip.

concluding with "fucking drunks" also doesn't help your point. If you're going to come to what's basically an /AA/ thread and be a judgemental dick, fuck off, you're not helping anyone. Stop acting like your drugs of choice are better than anyone else's.
