well yes but good cheese is easy to find in the US. bread for some reason is a little harder (not THAT hard though). most breadstuffs in the US are too sweet or not fresh. you need to go to a traditional bakery or a supermarket with an in-house bakery that sticks to plain recipes without the long list of ingredients
