The thing is, what you most western barbarians and bananas don't understand is that you're supposed to use chopsticks with a bowl. Left hand for lifting it up and putting it close to your mouth, right hand shoveling it in with chopsticks. It is way much more efficient than using a spoon, knife and a fork with a plate.
