Does anybody here have any experience with making wine from juice?

What I used:
>Great Value bottles of Grape, White Grape, and White Grape with Peach
>Half a teaspoon of yeast per bottle
>16 tablespoons/1 cup of sugar per bottle

What I did:
>Drained 16 oz from each bottle
>Added yeast
>Added sugar
>Shook well for 3 minutes
>Loosened bottle cap enough to where it could let any gas escape, but still tight enough to seal it from foreign bodies
>Put in a dark closet for storage, draped blanket on top
>Wil let it sit for 3-4 weeks to ferment

Wanted to confirm that I didn't screw it up somehow.
