Traditionally they come as straight rolls in paper packaging but there are different shapes as well as canes but these are usually a lot thicker than most candy canes you buy in stores, hand made and they are a lot more porous which makes em more or less melt in your mouth as well as a strong pepperminty flavor but yes I guess you could call it a type of candy cane.
