OP here, I know right? Few people can understand the true joy of peaceably prepping a salad with a new peeler thinly shaving carrots and skinning carrots. Its so much fun and relaxing to do now, compared to the chore it was before. Its also satisfying to see the ultra-close shavings when I'm done. I should have gotten one of these Y-style peelers a long time ago. I picked mine (a Kuhn Rikon) from the recommendations here:
https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-vegetable-peeler/

Also picked up a bag of this after hearing /ck/ shill for it off-an-on all year and honestly a tsp added into my holiday cooking really does deliver on the savory flavor promised. I'm pleasantly surprised pure MSG isn't just a meme like some other things /ck/ has suckered me into in the past.

Nice. I keep an e-book copy of latest edition of the America's Test Kitchen Cookbook also by CI and I can vouch for the recipes being legit.
>Bernard Clayton's New Complete Book of Breads
Looks neat. I have "The Bread Baker's Apprentice" by Peter Reinhart and I recommend it for understanding baker ratios and the bread making process from mixing, both proofing steps, shaping, etc.
