I'd totally be willing to be a part of a /ck/ wiki/sticky revival. I'll start documenting things that people suggest here, such as recommended cookbooks, cooking blogs, television/online cooking series, even links to archived posts so that I could clean them up and add context to them to make them useful for newfags.

I adore this board and all it faults and I believe that with a few anons' effort we could maybe improve the general discourse of this place.

>don't start America vs. Europe threads, those suck and are only good for /int/-tier shitposting. (Be aware of "Does America/Europe/Tajikistan really x?" threads)
>tipping threads are also basically going to devolve into us vs. them shitposting
>mentioning Chicago deep dish pizza in any capacity is going to be taken as a meme, and it will be hard to steer the topic seriously
>people here tend to call food trends or popular foods "meme foods" because 4chan is usually counter-culture and contrarian, don't take it seriously or personally
>there seems to be a great divide in American food culture over Urban vs. Rural (coasties vs flyovers) getting roped into that is a waste of energy
>mentioning veganism (and to a much-lesser extent, vegetarianism) will pretty much derail the thread and inspire deep hatred from everyone involved while convincing nobody to change their opinions
>there's generally always an alcoholic thread up, but if you want to actually talk about how alcohol tastes, make a new thread
>OC is pretty much always a good idea, good start on that, btw

OP, to avoid having over/undercooked food even while following good recipes, you need to learn about accurately judging food temperature during cooking. My recommendation is to get a decent insta-read thermometer and take the guess work out of it completely.

If you don't want to cough up 80-100 bucks on a Thermapen, which is the best you're gonna get outside of a lab, then get the ThermoPop, which is still made by the same company and only 20-30 buckaroos.

Once you learn about what food looks and feels like at particular temps, you'll intuitively gain that vague and mystical 'feel' that all the chefs meme over. But in this case, you won't waste or ruin a lot of food trying and learning.
