Well hope he's feeling better real soon. If it helps, you just want to pick a few basic things to pass on that give a variety in taste but aren't too rich. Something sweet, something savoury, something bbq-like and a couple of more exotics (thai coconut dishes for example)

One last piece of advice, make sure it's cool before he tries to eat it because you can't easily cool your mouth down when you eat something too hot.
